MEETINGS The Annual Meeting The annual meeting is held in a different city each year and always attracts from 100 to 150 members. It is designed to broaden collectors' horizons through cooperation with the leading institutions of the host city, which provide meeting rooms and auditoriums, behind the scenes tours, and exhibits of special interest to AHPCS members. Talks by scholars and other authorities on American history and prints are featured along with congenial banquets, a members' print mart, and a fund- raising print auction. The 2007 meeting will be held in Baltimore, MD. Recent meetings have been held in Ottawa, Canada (2006), Springfield, MA (2005), and Chicago, IL (2004). Past meetings have been held in both small and large cities across the United States, including Dearborn MI, Philadelphia PA, St. Louis MO, Washington, D.C., San Francisco CA, Birmingham AL, Providence RI, Chicago IL, Cleveland OH, Charlottesville VA, Rochester NY, and Fort Worth TX. Regional Meetings Regional representatives are appointed in locations across the country to help organize informal meetings which provide special access to the resources of libraries, historical societies, and museums in their areas. AHPCS encourages members interested in making such arrangements and will give assistance in setting up these events. Some regional meetings have featured informative and helpful workshops and demonstrations on the conservation of prints, a field of increasing interest to the serious collector. Look for information on regional events in our news and announcements area.
