Between Two Fires
Conn. 511 (small) and 512 (trade card) have this title. Conn. 512 is described as "similar to the preceding," indicating that the images are the same. Conn. 511 is described as having a "fisherman on tree stump." The print and trade card in our possession have a hunter on a fence, not a fisherman on a tree stump. However, rather than considering our print and trade card unlisted works, we believe Conningham's description is an error. The print and trade card are not uncommon and, in our experience, appear with the hunter and the fence.

Publisher: Stodart &: Currier
A hand colored lithograph of a roses with the imprint: Published by John C. Riker. Stodart &: Currier No. 1 Wall St. N.Y. This lithograph appears at the front of a series of untitled flower prints in an Album. This is a quarto volume with untitled cloth covers, but a title page reads: Album.
The album contains five additional hand-colored lithographs of fruit and flowers1 which do not bean an imprint. All five look much the same as the rose, and, therefore, were probably also lithographed by Stodart & Currier.
The album also contains manuscript poems etc., and newspaper clippings of death of Thomas C. Patterson. Patterson died near Pittsburgh in a sleighing accident on Jan. 9, 1837. The poems, however, were dated 1836 in manuscript, some as early as January 1, 1836.

Storming the Castle
Small, image co. 5 5/8 x 8 1/2
Publisher: Stoddart & Currier NY. No date.
Conningham (#5827) and Gale (#6281) list a print by Currier entitled Storming the Castle/ #312. This is described as (Children playing war.), which is the same as the print we had. However, there is no mention of Stoddart, indicating that publisher line different, and our print did not have #312. Likely that this was a reissue of the same issue once Stodart broke up with Currier.

[Summer]
Unlocated print
Publisher: Stodart & Currier NY. No date.
Last year we acquired a print folder owned by Nicholas B. Wainwright, author of "Philadephia in the Romantic Age of Lithography." In it was a print:
Summer. Drawn on stone by J.F. Waston. Published by J.F. & Ca. Watson. Cor. of 3d & Walnut. Phila. 10 1/8 x 12 1/2. Lithograph. Shows four horses frolicking in a glen by a stream, with a lightening and rain storm in the background.
Below this print was a manuscript note by Wainwright: Waston copied many English prints. Above is an incompleted work, printed in New York in 1834 by the short-lived firm of Stadart & Currier, whose imprint is a rarity.
Unfortunately, this print was missing, so we never saw it. Wainwright was a good scholar and it seems that one can assume this print did exist, but beyond that we know nothing.
